Happy Thursday!

Another week is almost gone...I cannot BELIEVE that it is almost MAY already!  Where has the beginning of 2011 gone??!?!?!?!

I don't know about all of you, but it has been a very life changing year for me so far.  A relationship that I thought was strong enough to last forever ended unexpectedly and suddenly, and I went into a deep depression.  Then, with the help of my awesome friends, I came out even stronger than ever (seriously, thank you all...I don't know what I would have done without you.).  I had some health issues that I pulled through...and now I am transforming my mind and body into the person that I want to be.  All in 5 months!  Can you even IMAGINE what will happen by the end of the year?!?!

So now I am going to pose a few questions to you...What are YOUR goals for the year?  For the next 5 years?  Even as far as the next 10 years?  What do YOU want to get from your life?  What impact do YOU want to have on the world?  And what SMALL steps can you take each day to reach your goals?

Write down your answers and look at them every day...This is what The Slight Edge has taught me.  Make small goals that are attainable and will help you to finally reach your ultimate goal.  And remember...no goal is too big to reach, you just have to have the will power and perserverance to push yourself to get there.

I will post some of my goals next week, along with the steps that I plan on taking every day to reach them.  For instance...I want to start growing my Beachbody Team...because I have met some of the most amazing people because of it!  I want to share it with the world.  A small step that I am taking to reach it?  I am going to Chicago this weekend and I plan on handing out 10 business cards while I am there...Whether it is to friends or complete strangers...I will reach out to 10 people...I will be gone from Friday until Monday...That averages to 2.5 people per day, not that difficult!  What are you going to do this weekend to better yourself or to help you reach your ultimate goal?

I will leave you with a quote that I love <3

"Remember, if you ever need a helping hand,
you'll find one at the end of your arm.  As you
grow older, you will discover that you have two
hands; one for helping yourself and the other
for helping others."

I know, I have been slacking

I hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend :)  I know that I did!  It was full of family and lots of love (and a puppy play date that was EXHAUSTING).

I am currently readying The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson and let me just say, if you have not read it...you should!

It is really helping me to realize my goals in life and how I can take simple steps every single day to reach them!  Once I finish this book, I think that I will post my goals here...but I am going to make you wait until I am done with the book...So Stay Tuned!!!

All Jack3d Up!

I dunno about all of you, but I have a tendency to not always bring it when I am tired after a long day of work.  I mean I wake up at 5 am...work from 7 am until almost 5 pm...then deal with traffic

stuck-in-traffic-jam.jpg

I have to feed puppy and let him out...

Make dinner for MYSELF...

THEN it is time to work out...

p90x_left_logo2.jpg

I am exhausted just READING all of it...Sometimes I don't get the chance to push play until almost 8 pm!  That is when I started looking for something to get my pumped up...give me energy to actually bring it and get the most from my workout...and that is when I heard about Jack3d :)

jack3d.jpeg

Now this stuff is intense and should be used carefully!  Don't just think, "oh, this is just an energy boosting supplement"...NO, this stuff is CRAZY...but I love it!

I put 1 scoop into about 10 oz of water about 20 minutes before my workout...and it really helps me to bring it!  Last night for instance, I almost DOUBLED my number of reps in shoulders and arms...and upped my weight!  I really  pushed myself and it felt amazing!  Plus, I was able to do ALLLLL of Ab Ripper X without stopping, that was a first!

Now like I said, BE CAREFUL with this stuff...They don't keep it in a glass care at GNC for no reason.  ALWAYS READ THE LABELS...

Also, if you are currently taking a multivitamin each morning, make sure that you continue to take it!  Jack3d will actually prevent some toxins from leaving your body...you multivitamin will help prevent this from happening!

I definitely recommend the stuff...I mean, I have had 2 of the BEST workouts of my life while taking it the past 2 days...but please be careful...

AMAZING

Hello :)

SO Kati already posted this in her blog...but I also want to share it here...

I just got this message from someone that I have been friends with since pre-school. She messaged me back when I started coaching and asked me about Beachbody, and said that she had P90X...well, her and I have been messaging back and forth since then, and because of me being so excited about it, she started doing P90X and living a healthier lifestyle.

Well she just sent me this message...and it put the biggest smile on my face, because if I would have NEVER started coaching, she would have NEVER experienced this...P90X was sitting in her closet...anyway...here it is :)

"Hey!! Just finished yoga x! I didn't want to try it at first but I am so happy I did!! Loved it! I feel stupid tying this but tears were coming out at one point cause I just felt so relaxed and happy. I was proud of myself at some of the moves I thought I wouldn't be able to do! Just had to share that with you. I might look for that cookbook u said u use. Where did u get it??"

She made my day :)

It showed me that I can make a difference and change lives...I LOVE IT :)

Law #8

So I know that in this day and age, it is pretty unlikely that a lot of us are getting the proper amount of sleep that a body should get to function at its highest potential.  Tony Horton wrote the piece that I have pasted below...It's a good article/blog/whatever it is...so read it :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8th Law of Exercise: Sleep (and Stress)
                       By Tony Horton
Stressed out, sleep-deprived people don't eat right and don't exercise regularly. Stress depletes your energy, strength, and desire, while poor sleep habits affect your moods and immune function, along with your cognitive and motor performance. Burning the candle at both ends makes it impossible to be fit and healthy.
Stressed and Insomnia
Stress
Do you realize that if you took the fear and anxiety out of every "stressful" situation in life, the end result of that situation would greatly improve? You can panic and freak out all you want, but time will still pass and life will happen, whether you stress out about it or not. So why not choose patience or curiosity? Patience is a virtue, and who wouldn't want to be virtuous in a stressful situation? To be curious means asking the right questions to help find solutions. When does fear, worry, or anxiety ever help a situation? Stress occurs when we are incapable of moving through a situation logically, peacefully, positively, productively, and gracefully. It take a lot of energy to be stressed out. Allowing stress to overtake you means you're having a tough time dealing with reality. Don't let stress get your goat. Stand up, take a deep breath, and see if you can deal with reality under pressure. I like the parable about the 10 people standing in line at a bank. Three robbers come storming in—screaming, yelling, and waving guns around. They terrorize the place and steal everyone's jewelry and money. What's the moral of the story? Ten people experiencing the same event will have very different reactions to it. Some will never recover, while others will have a crazy story to tell at cocktail parties. How do you respond to the events in your life?
I like Byron Katie's 3 Kinds of Business Theory:
God's Business. The things that happen in this world that are out of my control.
Their Business. The choices other people make based on their life experiences so far.
My Business. The choices I make that shape my life.
Don't waste your time on gossip, ridicule, envy, self-pity, anger, guilt, arrogance, impatience, regret, manipulation, jealousy, fear, worry, and anxiety. It's too stressful, and it destroys the energy you need to stay healthy and fit. If you choose understanding, truth, clarity, patience, devotion, gratitude, acceptance, wisdom, and forgiveness, you will have peace of mind and all the energy in the world to do whatever you want.
Sleep
Sleep does more than make you feel rested. Two recent studies with healthy volunteers demonstrated suppression of immunological function in participants after one night of modest sleep deprivation. The activity of certain white blood cells and the production of chemicals essential for immune system performance significantly decreased. After a good night's sleep, most immune functions went back to baseline levels. About 40 percent of adults experience sleepiness that interferes with daily activities. Most U.S. adults get less than 7 hours of sleep per night during the workweek, while research has determined that certain parameters of immune function are enhanced by more than 7 hours of sleep.
Another study showed that the leading cause of traffic accidents in this country is NOT alcohol but sleep deprivation. If you don't have enough energy to stay awake to drive your car, how will you have enough energy for a 6-day-a-week workout plan? We're not sleeping enough hours, and the limited time we spend trying to sleep is filled with so much mind chatter that we never get the rest we need.
My Merriam-Webster's Collegiate® Dictionary defines sleep as follows: the natural periodic suspension of consciousness during which the powers of the body are restored. In the Taoist philosophy, there's a belief in yin and yang energies. These are opposing energies that create balance. Exercise is yang energy. Sleep and rest are yin energy. There must be proper balance between vim and vigor (yang) and inward calm (yin). If you don't get enough sound sleep, your body will NOT receive the proper restoration it needs to complete or succeed with any fitness program. So TiVo® American Idol and go to bed!
Peace,
Tony H.
Now it is time for the quote of the day...
"Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth.  Only
you can be responsible for that.  If you can't love and respect yourself -
no one else will be able to make that happen.  Accept who you are -
completely;the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit -
not becauseyou think someone else wants you to be different."
I know...I have been MIA
I know that I have been MIA for the past few days...please forgive me!  But life got crazy for a little while there (between birthday parties, our Eat Clean party, work, and other appointments), but I promise to not disappear for that long again!
Let's start with the weekend, Saturday to be exact!  My cousin's little boy turned 2, so me and my parents piled into the car and headed to Meadville, PA for his party.  I did very well eating that day, even with all of the unhealthy temptations!  I ended up eating a grilled portabella and roasted red pepper panini for lunch (yummo!)...Then there was pizza and cake at the party (I only ate 1 piece of Hawaiian pizza and 2 bites of my cake!).  I feel like it was a good food day overall, I considered it my cheat day!
Then, Sunday was the Clean Eating Party...and it was a HUGE success!  We had a ton of yummy food and a great turnout!  So great in fact, that we have already tentatively planned our next one for Sunday, May 22nd...So mark your calendar!  If you want to see pictures, feel free to check out Kati's blog (she has some posted!)
I also got new tennis shoes this week because my old ones were making my workouts painful.  I have only done 1 day with the new shoes (Reebok ZigTechs) and so far I can already tell a difference...I will let you know how it goes over the course of the next few days!
My new shoes.
On another note...I went to the dentist yesterday and no cavities!  Woohoo!
For those of you interested...I will be ordering Insanity within the next couple of weeks, then starting it soon after!  If you are interested in joining me...let me be your coach and we can embark on the journey together!  Send me a message and we can work something out!
Happy Friday!
Well everyone, we made it through another week...YAY!  And for me, this is the end of my Week 1 do-over for P90X!  Double YAY!  I feel awesome and all of my clothes are starting to fit me a lot better.  Exciting stuff!
This ALSO means that in 2 days is our Clean Eating Party!  Don't forget!  It is at my house, and is an open house from 1pm-4pm...We will have lots of HEALTHY snacks...Plus we will be discussing Shakeology and giving out samples.  Also, you will be able to sign up for our AWESOME team if you are not already a member.  So stop by!  Come and visit!  Eat some food, and have fun with us!  Message me for more info!
But that is all I have for you today!  I am sure that I will have TONS to talk about after this weekend (it is jam packed!)...
I am considering starting a quote of the day texting club?  Meaning I would send out a motivational quote every morning to anyone that wants it...I used to get them through a provider but most of them had NO meaning to me (they were terrible!)...So message me you phone number if you would be interested!  I promise to not spam you...and your number will be kept secret :)
But I am going to leave you with a quote that Kati wanted me to post...
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our dark, that frightens us most...
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us.
And when we let our own light shine,
we  unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberatedfrom our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."
